The room was really nice: comfortable and tastefully furnished, with a very comfortable bed! We liked the food and beer in the pub and the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff.
Breakfast was provided in the room which was a good idea in some ways but it could be improved upon. All the food was cold except for pot porridge and the provision of a kettle for hot drinks. A toaster might be nice to have something warm and some croissants or danish pastries as well as/instead of just bread.

Staff were extremely friendly. We were staying for a wedding and needed a taxi immediately upon arrival. We were informed that taxi's were incredibly difficult in this area. However, they rang around for us and found one straight away which we were very grateful for! Bed was comfortable. Bathroom clean. Room warm and cosy with electric heaters.
We were hugely disappointed with the breakfast. It certainly was not continental. It was just a small selection of cereal, a yoghurt, bread roll and fruit. No toast. No croissants. No meats selection. It was very basic and disappointing. Blinds were thin so we were wide awake quite early. Even though staff were extremely friendly we would not stay here again... Not keen on self-service in room breakfast.

We liked everything about the Dovecote Inn! The friendliness of the welcome; the ensuite bedroom; the dinner in the restaurant; the breakfast in our bedroom; the superb, peaceful location; the car parking; the very reasonable prices; all were just perfect.
Our only complaint, if you can call it that, is that the Dovecote Inn only has two letting bedrooms and we were unable to make a further booking as they were both taken! Nevertheless we'll definitely visit again and ensure we make an early booking!

beautiful stay but minor quirks
The room offered good decor and an really good shower experience. The fridge provided thoughtful amenities, such as juice and water.
The charming setting featured a fine garden view, yet the proximity to the road brought some ambient noise.

The service from Sam and his team stood out, as they were attentive and responsive throughout our stay. We particularly enjoyed the breakfast in our room, really good with a variety of options to choose from.
The garden view could use some maintenance.

Had a very friendly welcome at the Dovecote Inn. Room was beautiful, lovely countryside view, quiet and very peacful. lovely fluffy towels! Loved the fact that I could eat a continental breakfast in my room whatever time I wanted it, with fresh coffee and poridge. The food in the pub was heavenly too. What fabulous value for money.
Nothing, my only gripe was that I couldn't access the wifi with the code given and I didnt know which network to choose.
